This course focuses on the basics of creating your own art or art and craft business. The material for this course is provided in the book “Art Marketing 101.”

EXAMS: For this textbook there will be a Learning Portfolio all of which are answered as you study the textbook. You will work on the Learning Portfolio as you progress in your textbook.

GRADES: You will receive a pass/fail on the Learning Portfolios and a letter grade on the one comprehensive final exam based on the following scale:

90–100%    = A
80-89%      = B
70-79%      = C
Below 70% = Fail

You must receive a letter grade of C or higher to successfully complete the program.

COURSE PROGRESSION: The course begins on the date of your enrollment. You have 90 days to complete each course. Extensions are rarely granted, and then, only for extreme emergencies or active military duty. If you don’t complete the course within the 90-day time frame, you will receive an “incomplete/withdrawal” and will have to re-register and pay tuition again if you desire to complete it.

This is a self-paced course. You may proceed at the pace that is right for you. It is acceptable to accelerate in this course and to complete it in less than 90 days.

As you progress through the course, always feel free to contact me to discuss issues, questions, etc. related to the course. I am there to be a mentor to you as you proceed with learning.

COURSE OBJECTIVES: At the completion of this course, you will be able to:

1). Sculpt a hand & arm and a foot & leg.
2). Natural and unnatural positions.
3). Tapering of the arm and leg.
4). The elbow’s structure.
5). Determining skin folds.
6). The knee’s structure.
7). The arch and transverse arch of the foot.
8). Line up proportions--vertical and horizontal.
9). Understand the muscles in relation to bone structure.
10). Detail the difference of male and female features.
11). Sculpt fingernails.
12). Know the importance of views and contours of the arm and leg.
13). Place body movement in relation to the underlying structure.
14). Create surface anatomy over bone and muscles.
15). Put structural principals to work.
16). Use coloring and shading techniques.
17). Bake polymer clay.
18). Develop you own sculpting techniques.
19). Design shadows in proper hollows.
20). Create the finishing method for realism.
