Welcome to Pharmacology & Addictions, a Masters level course for the Master in Addiction counseling Psychology. I am please to instruct you in this course, which will be a vital course for the remainder of your studies in the Masters Program.
This Course covers an account of the effects of psychoactive drugs on the brain and their behavior.
This course is a four-semester hour course. The course is allotted up to ten weeks and all requirements must be completed up to the ten weeks. If you end the course before, that is fine.
There is one textbook required for this course.
Book 1: Primer of Drug Action Trade: A Concise Nontechnical Guide to the Actions, Uses and Side Effects of Psychoactive Drugs. Robert M. Julien. Worth Publishers, Incorporated, Published: October 2005, 10th Edition. ISBN # 0-7167-0615-6.
You will have one final exam for this course which must be taken by the tenth week of this course. It will be composed of 50 questions which will be multiple choice or true/false in nature. You are to do a 3-page summary for each chapter. (If the chapter is about any of the drugs, you are to identify the behaviors, uses and side effects for the psychoactive drug.) The summary is to be APA style using at least three sources from the book/or chapter.
91-100% = A
81-90% = B
71-80% = C
Below 70% = Failed

Read the Chapter's in the book.
Upon completion of this course, you will be able to:
1). Become familiar each psychoactive drug.
2). Become familiar with the actions, uses and side effect of the psychoactive drug.
