Welcome to Recovery and Relapse Prevention, a Masters level course for the Master in Addiction counseling Psychology. I am please to instruct you in this course, which will be a vital course for the remainder of your studies in the Masters Program.
This Course provides an in dept look at relapse prevention. Learn to assess progress in recovery with the Development model of Recovery. Course covers early identification of relapse factors and includes practical information for use with clients.
This course is a four-semester hour course. The course is allotted up to ten weeks and all requirements must be completed up to the ten weeks. If you end the course before, that is fine.
One textbook is required for this course.
Book 1: Passages Through Recovery , by Terrence T. Gorky, M.A. C.A.C., Hazelden. Center City , Minnesota 55012-0176 . First Edition 1989. IBSN #: 1-56838-139-5.
You will have one final exam for this course which must be taken by the tenth week of this course. It will be composed of 50 questions which will be multiple choice or true/false in nature. Since this is a graduate course you are to do a summary for each chapter. The summary is to be five pages and no longer than five pages APA Style using four sources from each chapter.
91-100% = A
81-90% = B
71-80% = C
Below 70% = Failed
