SYLLABUS

COURSE OVERVIEW: Welcome to Advanced Addictions Counseling Symposium, a Masters level course for the Master in Addiction Counseling Psychology. I am please to instruct you in this course, which will be a vital course for the remainder of your studies in the Masters Program.

In this course the student will get a chance to develop his/or his own (Subject/or Topic) they wish to do on their research project (paper). This can be done with the approval of the professor. Once the student has decided the subject matter for research in the area of Addictions, and then need the approval of the professor.

TIME FRAME: This course is a 16-semester hour course. The course is allotted up to ten weeks and all requirements must be completed up to the ten weeks. If you end the course before, that is fine.

TEXTBOOK: You are to seek approval for the textbook from the professor.

EXAMINATIONS: You will have one final exam for this course which must be taken by the tenth week of this course. It will be composed of 50 questions which will be multiple choice or true/false in nature. Since this is a research project (paper). You are to do it APA style using sources from the book and/or other books. The research (project) paper is to be no more than 15 pages long.

GRADING:

91-100% = A
81-90% = B
71-80% = C
Below 70% = Failed

COMMUNICATION: You are encouraged to communicate with me via-email and/or the "Chat" room.

ASSIGNMENTS: Read the Chapter's of the book you choose to do your research project (paper) from.

COURSE OBJECTIVES: Make sure to bring up the objectives that you wish you want to learn from in the research project (paper) when doing it.
