This course
provides a study of the basic concepts of federal income taxation
as applied to business entities and estates and trusts. It covers
the relevant codes and regulations as they pertain to these taxable
organizations. The course will focus on tax planning and tax compliance.
Topics covered include income inclusions and exclusions, deductions,
property transactions, capital gains and losses, and tax credits.
There is one required
textbook for this course.

There is a midterm and
final exam. The mid-term exam will cover chapters 2,3,4,10,11, 12
and 13. The final will cover chapters 14,15,16,17,18 and 19.
Exams are required to be completed timely. Exams which are not
completed within the time frame will not be accepted.
This is a eight
week course. The following scale consists of the assignments be
completed for credit:
1). Quizzes - 10%
2). Homework - 30%
3). Midterm - 30%
4). Final - 30%
The following
scale is used fore this course.
90-100% = A
80-89% = B
70-79% = C
69-69% = D
Below 59%= Fail
For each chapter you will be required to read E-Lectures, complete
a Review Problem and take an Interactive Quiz.

is always due on Mondays. The course will begin the first Monday
after the agreement.
