Online Degree Program

Our online distance education program offers students the opportunity to study a comprehensive curriculum in the E-Business and Commerce degree program.    Students in this program will be able to blend the fields of business and information technology to address the emerging field of e-Commerce and e-Business. The program provides fundamental knowledge and application in both business and information technology. It is designed to produce graduates ready to function in e-Business positions with the competencies, skills, and attitudes necessary for success in the workplace.

Through this program students will learn the skills needed to succeed in this field. All of the courses are focused on the major. This allows students to maximize their learning in the core courses and succeed in their educational and career goals.

Students begin with E-commerce foundations, programming language design theory, database systems, and a choice between several other courses. In the higher division courses students learn; internet marketing strategies, ethical/legal aspects of e-commerce, and managing e-commerce projects.   Student then enter two symposium courses where they research several in-depth topics in the E-Business and Commerce field. Several career fields this degree will prepare you for are:

The perquisites for this program are: a high school diploma or an earned GED

The online curriculum offers an innovative approach to higher education. Enrollment is open and students may begin the program at any time. All courses are provided in online classrooms, with on-to-one faculty mentoring. Students also have free access to our comprehensive Study Tactics and Resources Center, with links to subject related websites, online libraries, articles and research assistance. Our online degree in  E-business and Commerce curriculum includes:

3. CS 195 Programming Language Design Theory 5 hrs
4. CS 220 Data Base Systems 5 hrs
5. EC 250 Distributed Systems 5 hrs*
6. EC 270 Web Architecture 5 hrs*
7. EC 280 Designing User Interface 5 hrs**
8. EC 290 Interactive Multimedia Systems 5 hrs**
9. EC 300 Internet Marketing 5 hrs
10. EC 310 Mobile Commerce 5 hrs
11. EC 340 Legal & Ethical Aspects of Computing 5 hrs
12. EC 360 Managing E-Commerce Projects 5 hrs
13. EC 450 E-Business/Commerce Symposium I 30 hrs
14. EC 490 E-Business/Commerce Symposium II 30 hrs

TOTAL: 110 Semester Hours

Courses in this curriculum are to be taken in sequence as above.

TUITION: $400.00 per course. Students may register and pay for one course at a time.

Students select EC 250 * or EC 270 *
Students select EC 280 ** or EC 290 **

Note: cost of tuition does not include cost of text books.

There is also a one time $50.00 admission processing fee.

Course Completion Times: Students are permitted 10 weeks to complete an online course. This may be extended with the permission of the instructor. For all Symposium Courses, students are permitted up to a six month period for completion. Doctoral students are permitted one year for all Dissertation/Doctoral Project courses.

TRANSFER CREDITS & EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING CREDITS: Up to fifty percent of the degree may be earned by transfer credits from other schools and/or application for the award of experiential learning credits.
