Our online distance education Art History program offers students the opportunity to study a comprehensive curriculum in various cutures and eras of Art History. A culture's nature is best revealed by its art. Our program will allow you to into the past of diferent cultures through out our history. the wide variety of cultures studied reach from Asian art to medieval European art. You will study the many different types of art, the unique qualities they each possess, and the contributions they made in history.

All of the courses are focused on the degree major thus allowing students maximum learning in the core courses and the education needed today to succeed in a successful Art History career. Art History is a very strong career option and agencies and clients seek out those with a strong and focused education in all facets of the field.

Students begin with the study of introduction to art, art theory, history and philosophy as well as western art and color. Specific courses focus on 7 electives in art history, which the student chooses. Following the seven elective courses students study theories and methods of historical art research, thus preparing them for ongoing study in this field, and prepare for future graduate education.    Several career fields this degree will prepare you for are:

The perquisites for this program are: a high school diploma or an earned GED

The online curriculum offers an innovative approach to higher education. Enrollment is open and students may begin the program at any time. All courses are provided in online classrooms, with on-to-one faculty mentoring. Students also have free access to our comprehensive Study Tactics and Resources Center, with links to subject related websites, online libraries, articles and research assistance. 2. ART 110 Art in Theory, Philosophy & History 8 hrs
3. ART 215 Survey of Western Art I 8 hrs
4. ART 220 Survey of Western Art II 8 hrs
5. ART 225 History of Color & Mixing Colors 8 hrs
Students must select and complete 7 of the following courses as electives.
1. ART 255 Italian Renaissance Art 8 hrs
2. ART 260 Egyptian Art 8 hrs
3. ART 265 Greek Art 8 hrs
4. ART 300 Medieval Art 8 hrs
5. ART 325 Early Christian and Byzantium Art 8 hrs
6. ART 335 Asian Art 8 hrs
7. ART 340 French Art 8 hrs
8. ART 370 Painting in Spain: El Greco to Goya 8 hrs
9. ART 390 Japanese Art 8 hrs
10. ART 400 Chinese Art 8 hrs
11. ART 425 Baroque & Rocco: Art & Culture 8 hrs
12. ART 430 Pre-Columbian Art 8 hrs
After the elective courses, all students will take ART 490.
13. ART 490 Theories and Methods of Art Historical Research 16 hrs

TOTAL: 120 Semester Hours

Courses in this curriculum are to be taken in sequence as above.

TUITION: $400.00 per course. Students may register and pay for one course at a time.

* Note: cost of tuition does not include cost of text books.

** There is also a one time $50.00 admission processing fee.

Course Completion Times: Students are permitted 10 weeks to complete an online course. This may be extended with the permission of the instructor. For all Symposium Courses, students are permitted up to a six month period for completion. Doctoral students are permitted one year for all Dissertation/Doctoral Project courses.
