This
course is dissertation project course is offered as part of the
DBA program in business administration with sector concentration
options.
This course serves two main purposes. The first
is that the course serves to further your knowledge within a selected
segment of business, such as market research or a product design,
and secondly, this endeavor provides an opportunity to enhance
learning by development of a product, project or in-depth study
of a business issue or problem. The class itself will consist
of a very specific guided project with myself monitoring the entire
process. The actual project is decided by you, but I must approve
all steps as identified in the Proposal. The Dissertation itself
must follow very specific guidelines that will be noted in the
assignment section of the classroom. This project can be in various
forms or use various approaches depending on your plan for the
future.
This
is a twenty-semester hour course. This course is allotted ten
weeks of time, but can be extended to thirty weeks for the Dissertation
phase by agreement with me. Each week begins on Sunday and ends
on Saturday. There will be no deviation from this unless specified
by me ahead of time. Any deviation must be approved before hand
and the only excuses are death or serious illness. Upon successful
completion of this course, you will be awarded twenty semester
hours of credit and, most importantly, your degree titled: Doctor
in Business Administration.
You
are not required to purchase any textbook for this course, other
than materials that you intend to use in research or design of
the Dissertation. The accepted format for this type of writing
is APA. The newest APA guide is 5th edition and is available at
any college or online bookstore (see selections below). This is
a required format for this course so please make sure that you
are familiar with APA format for Dissertations, including citations.
Once enrolled in the class, you are provided full guidelines for
completing your dissertation.
Complete
all regular courses within the program before beginning Doctoral
Project or Dissertation.
You must submit all assignments
on time as listed in the assignment section of the classroom.
Other interactions are encouraged, but not necessary. Late assignments
will result in point deductions. Questions via email need to be
properly labeled and signed in order that I can readily identify
you, your topic, and your degree program. The only requirements
for attendance are the assignment deadlines given above.
