Welcome to Christian Counseling II. The prerequisite course for this CCH 240 is CCH 140. Utilizing the basic concepts Biblical counseling, the healthy integration of psychology and theology, and the pastoral role as a diagnostician, the student will develop the foundation for counseling in specific areas of emotional problems and crises: Anger, Forgiveness, Marriage, and Sexual entanglements. This course will lay the foundation for helping people using the Biblical principals developed in CCH140. This course will require an extensive amount of reading, self-evaluation and written analysis of books read and personal reflection.
This is a ten-semester hour course. This course is allotted ten weeks of time of completion. You must complete all of the requirements for the course successfully by the end of the ten-week period.

90-100% = A
80-89% = B
70-79% = C
Below 69% = Fail
Rev. Charles Davis is a graduate of Christian Bible College and Seminary, Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and Breyer State University, and has complete two units (800 hours) of CPE training. He holds a BS in Theology, Associates in Divinity and MS Pastoral Care. He served in the US Navy for 14 years working in the area of Electronics and Electronic Warfare; this included three tours in Vietnam. Additionally, he served as a drug and alcohol counselor, a Master Training Specialist and Electronic Instructor. He has ten (10) years experience as a Manufacturing Engineering Manager in the electronic component manufacturing industry. Rev. Davis entered the ministry in 1978 and served as pastor, counselor, teacher, and chaplain. Rev. Davis has served on various denominational committees and boards at the local and state level. He has been a Theological Field Education Supervisor for seminary students who where serving in a variety of ministries settings.
During Pastor Davis' thirty-plus years of tenure as pastor/teacher/counselor/chaplain he has served hospitals and congregations in Florida, Illinois, California, Texas and Missouri. As a pastor and counselor, Pastor Davis' counseling has ranged from advice giving to crises intervention to long term counseling of children, adults, senior adults and families. He has given seminars on anger management and grief. Some of the areas of Christian Counseling have been and are (but not been limited to) addiction, death and dying, abortion, marriage, divorce, and suicide. He is presently Senior Pastor serving a congregation in Independence, Missouri.
The aim of this course is to give a basic overview and foundation for pastoral counseling with a Biblical foundation; to help give the student a better understanding of personal coping skills, and the foundation to build on and enhance Christian counseling skills for upper level counseling courses.
Upon completion of this course, you will be able:

2). Basic understanding the personality types.
3). Dealing with individuals in crisis.
4). Understand the power of personal relationship.
5). Pastoral Counseling in the areas of anger, sexual entanglements, forgiveness, and marriage.
