SYLLABUS

COURSE OVERVIEW: Welcome to CCH 340, Child and Adolescent Christian Counseling. This is an exciting course that will examine the theories adult development and aging. Learn as much as you can from the course materials. It is my pleasure to have you in this course.

TIME FRAME: This is an eight-semester hour course. This course is allotted ten weeks of time. You must complete all of the requirements for the course successfully by the end of the ten-week period. The first day of week one will begin the day that you register for the course, or the day in which you notify me that your textbooks have arrived and you are ready to begin your studies. Please be aware of the time frame. It is rare that extensions of time are permitted, unless you have good justification. Upon successful completion of this course, you will be awarded eight semester hours of credit.

EXAMINATIONS: There is no cumulative final exam required for this course. You are to use the workbook and study guide as you read the text. Take this opportunity to learn.

GRADING: The grading scale for this course is as follows:

90-100%    = A
80-89%      = B
70-79%      = C
Below 70% = Fail

COMMUNICATION: You are encouraged to communicate with me. I am available as an instructor, facilitator, and mentor to assist you in meeting your goals for this course. Primarily, communication is through email. However, I am also available for conversation by telephone if you would like. Please keep my email address handy so that you can contact me whenever necessary. If at any time during this course you change your email address, please notify me immediately.

WRITTEN ASSIGNMENT: There is a paper required for this course. Please check the assignment section of the classroom for details.

ABOUT YOUR INSTRUCTOR: My name is Don Jones. I have been an educator for the past 26 years. I have taught at the elementary through graduate level during those years. I have also been a senior minister for 13 years. It is my hope you will develop a clear vision of your ministry from this course. I enjoy music, exercise, and being with my family.
