TEXTBOOK: The follow textbook is required for this course.

Audio CD 1: Audio listening: Dave Elman , Findings in Hypnosis. © 2003. By NLT Hypnosis. MP3 Recording on CD. 15 hours of Dave Elman Training. Due to the length of this CD it will only play in MP3 format only on your computer. This is a must have for every person who uses hypnosis. Within the recording the famous Hypnotist Dave Elman teaches his techniques that have become "the standards" in the field.

GRADES: You will receive a letter grade based on the following scale:

90-100%    = A
80-89%      = B
70-79%      = C*
Below 70% = Fail

*You must receive a letter grade of C, or higher, to successfully complete the program.

You start out with 100% on each assignment. The study guide is a separate assignment, the referral letter is a separate assignment, and the final exam is a separate assignment. Any mistakes, and/or written corrections, receive a 2% deduction per note or correction by me: on study guides, papers, and examinations. Spelling and grammar will be deducted 1% per mistake to a maximum of 20% deduction for mistakes and corrections.

CERTIFICATION: graduates of the entire certificate program (all four courses) are eligible to apply for and receive Certification as a Clinical Hypnotherapist through the American College of Hypnotherapy. ABOUT YOUR INSTRUCTOR: Professor Dr. Alan R. Eastman, BA, MA (c), DCH, started his secondary education at the age of 17 by attended the Red Deer College, Red Deer, Alberta, Canada, in 1987. First attending the general studies program, and then merging into the Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Psychology program. Alan then transferred to the University of Lethbridge, in Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada in their B.Sc. in Psychology degreee program. Alan Eastman moved to the beautiful city of Calgary in 1990 to complete two Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree programs in 1993. Alan graduated from the University of Calgary with a BA degree in Psychology, and a BA degree in Geography.

Alan R. Eastman also completed two masters level overseas field study programs with the University of Calgary Graduate Geography Department. The first overseas masters level course was completed on location in the Mediterranean, and in the Near East. The studies centered on cultural and physical aspects of Italy, Greece and Turkey. The following year Alan completed his overseas field study requirements with the University of Calgary, Graduate Geography Department, in the Eastern Caribbean islands. Alan studied cultural and physical elements of the various locations explored.

Dr. Alan Eastman furthered his post secondary graduate level education at the American Institute of Hypnotherapy, in Irvine, California. He completed the requirements for and earned his Doctor of Clinical Hypnotherapy (DCH) degree in 1997. Alan has attended many postgraduate training seminars and classes in advanced clinical hypnotherapy techniques.

In May of 1997, Alan Eastman established his clinical practice in hypnotherapy in Red Deer, Alberta, Canada. Since that time, Alan has continued to expand his practice and professional opportunities. Alan has developed and professionally recorded a series of at home self-improvement programs available on audiocassette and CDs for: stopping smoking, weight loss, eliminating anxiety and depression, deep relaxation, quick relaxation, and self-hypnosis. Alan delivers seminars and presentations at many different venues. Teaching the importance of relaxation, guided imagery, and the role hypnosis can play in the health of the mind, body, and spirit. Alan Eastman, DCH, is the current Executive Director of the Professional Board of Hypnotherapy, Inc. An international Hypnotherapist organization offering networking, education, training, promotion, and on-line referral services. Alan Eastman, DCH is also employed by the David Thompson Health Region (Region 4), Mental Health Crisis Response Team, which operates a province wide Health Link phone number, operating out of the Alberta Hospital, Ponoka. Alan is part of a mental health crisis response team that provides timely mental health interventions, and psychiatric evaluations at the request of the triage team at the Health Line and the Alberta Mental Health Hospital in Ponoka, Alberta, Canada.

Professor Alan Eastman, DCH, is senior faculty at Breyer State University, and instructs courses in the curriculum of the Bachelor and Doctor of Clinical Hypnotherapy programs, as well as this Hypnosis Certification diploma program.
