SYLLABUS

COURSE OVERVIEW: Welcome to Drug Abuse; this is a Masters level course in the curriculum for the Degree of Masters in Criminal Justice. I am delighted that I have the chance to instruct you in this area of your studies.

This course is designed to provide developed theories and understanding as to the causational factors of Drug Abuse. Currently, our society is being overwhelmed with juvenile crime that has a direct correlation associated with drugs. This course will explore the many theories behind drug abuse and perhaps we can better understand why drug abuse occurs and how society can better protect our children from them.

In addition, the book for this class takes a little different approach as it touches on the lives of three individuals and relates their experiences with causational theories and factors. I believe that you will enjoy this course and will gain a significant understanding of the problems facing society as it relates to Drug Abuse. Again, I am delighted to have you in the course and wish you the best.
