Welcome to the Impact Therapy course. I'm pleased to offer you this
course. This is an exciting course. According to Dr. Jacobs, Impact
therapy is an approach to counseling that shows respect for the
way clients learn, change, and develop. Dr. Jacobs states “Impact
therapy is a form of therapy that combines creative counseling techniques
and certain counseling theories”. Impact Therapy is designed
to help the client during a session by providing and creating change.
Impact Therapy was developed by Dr. Jacobs. He states: “is
an empowering approach therapy that shows great respect for the
client”. In this course you will learn how to get you clients
to think rationally about their issues by challenging them with
many creative techniques.
The aim of this course
is to introduce you to the ideas of Impact Therapy and to show you
another way to conceptualize how to approach counseling
.

self-awareness, and exploration activities.
This is a four-semester
credit course. This course is allotted eight months of time. You
must complete all of the requirements for the course successfully
by the end of the eight month period. This course has 60 contact
hours. Upon successful completion of this course, you will be awarded
four semester hours of credit.
There are two required
textbooks for this class.

Grades are based
on final exam (45 points), Discovery and Intention statement (30
points), Activities (25 points).
The grading scale for
this course is as follows:
90%-100% = A
80%-89% = B
70%-79% = C
Below 69% = Fail

Upon successful
completion of the course. I will forward your grade and notice of
completion to the administration of Breyer State University. Within
two weeks, you will receive your official Certificate of Accomplishment,
detailing the course, number of contact hours, your course grade,
and the number of earned semester hour credits.

Discovery statements are a declaration of what you want, a description
of your attitudes, statement of your feelings, transcripts of your
thoughts, and chronicles of your behavior. Intention statements
can be used to alter your life, statements of your commitment to
do a specific task, or to take a certain action. An intention arises
out of your choice to direct your energy toward a particular goal.
