Welcome to Personnel Law! This course covers personnel law from the business perspective. The course will cover all the foundations for understanding personnel law and the most important federal guidelines.
This is a five-semester hour course. The course is allotted ten weeks of time. You must complete all of the requirements for the course successfully by the end of the ten-week period. The first day of week one will begin the day that you register for the course, or the day which you notify me that your textbook has arrived and you are ready to begin the studies. Please be cognizant of the time frame for completing the course. Once you have registered for the class I will supply a spreadsheet that shows what work needs to be completed each week in order to meet the ten-week time frame. It is rare that extensions of time are permitted, unless you have good justification. Upon successful completion of the course, you will be awarded five semester hours of credit.
There is one (1) textbook
for this course.
Book 1: Employment Law for Business. By Dawn Bennett-Alexander & Laura Hartman. New York, New York; McGraw-Hill: 2004. 5th Edition. ISBN # 0073028959.

format will be multiple choice and open book. The mid-term examination
must be completed by the end of the fifth week of class. The final
examination must be completed by the tenth week of class.
Both exams will be programmed in the classroom for this course.
You will have one (1) day to complete the exam, once you access
it from the classroom. To access the exam, you must send me an email
and request to have access to it.
