Information Sheet on our Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice Degree Program.

Thank you for your interest in our online Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice (BS) degree program. Very few (distance program) opportunities exist today for people to acquire their education through online courses. Breyer State University is proud to offer a new "Innovative" online distance education degree program leading to the Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice Degree. Our degree program consists of eight core courses and three possible tracks with five additional courses, which are listed below:

1. CJ 100 Introduction to Criminal Justice 6 hrs
2. CJ 130 Law Enforcement in Criminal Justice 6 hrs
3. CJ 150 The American Court Systems 6 hrs
4. CJ 170 Corrections Theory & Systems 6 hrs
5. CJ 210 Criminal Behavior 6 hrs
6. CJ 225 Criminal Justice Information Systems 6 hrs
7. CJ 240 Juvenile Justice Systems 6 hrs
8. CJ 280 Liability & Career Issues in Criminal Justice 6 hrs

The above eight (8) core courses are required for all students in the degree program. Upon successful completion of the core courses, students will select one of the following three (3) specialty tracks.

Policing/Enforcement Track

1. CJE 310 Modern Policing 10 hrs
2. CJE 360 Criminal Investigation 10 hrs
3. CJE 390 Proactive Police Management 10 hrs
4. CJE 420 Methods of Crime Control 10 hrs
5. CJE 480 Policing/Enforcement Symposium 20 hrs

Law/Court System Track

Corrections Track

Crime Scene Investigation Track

TOTAL HOURS = 108

Upon successful completion of eight core courses and one of the three possible tracks with five additional courses, you will be conferred the degree "Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice” and may use the initials, "BS" after your name.

The BS Degree in Criminal Justice prepares you for a successful career in the law enforcement/legal/corrections profession. Upon graduation, this program is designed for you to immediately enter in some the world's finest police departments.

The BS curriculum consists of courses in law enforcement, legal environment, and corrections. All courses are targeted and precise, clear and easy to follow, yet challenging and exciting at the same time. Each course begins with a syllabus from your instructor, followed by course assignments. You will be given five years to complete the BS program. Apostille Notarization of Degrees

Graduates, who reside outside of the USA, may require their degrees to have an Apostille Certification.  Breyer State University works with an agency in Washington DC that we refer graduates to for application for their Apostille of their degree. View Additional Information

FAQS:

1). There are no residency or travel requirements for this degree program.
2). Courses may be registered for and paid for, all at once or one course at a time.
3). You may take more than one course at one time, except for the Symposium Courses; they must be taken individually in sequence.
4). Breyer State University is accredited by the Association for Innovation in Distance Education. To learn more about our accreditation please view www.breyerstate.com/accreditation.htm
5). Tuition does not include textbooks.
6). To apply for the BS Degree Program, you must complete an online enrollment application. This can be done at www.breyerstate.com/apply.htm
7). There is a one-time $50.00 admissions fee. This can be paid by credit card online at our secure server www.breyerstate.com/pay.htm We also accept personal checks and money orders payable to Breyer State University. These may be mailed to 2100 SouthBridge Parkway, Suite 650, Birmingham, Alabama 35209.
8). There are no requirements for admission to this degree program.
9). There are no grants or tuition assistant for this program. However, many employers are paying for or reimbursing tuition for studies at Breyer State University. Please check with your own employer's policy on this.
10). Breyer State University will accept transfer credits of completed courses from other universities.
11). Upon graduation, your diploma and official transcripts will have Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice, as well as your major area of study printed on the diploma.
12). Breyer State University offers an innovative program whereby you can apply for and receive up to 50% of your degree requirements via life/career experiences and/or transfer credits. Full information regarding this is available at our website.
13). Our diplomas are beautifully done by a professional printer. They are a light cream color card stock with blue and black foil ink for lasting quality. The Breyer State University logo is imprinted and our diplomas carry the gold embossed seal of the university. They are contained in a beautiful navy blue leather-like diploma holder with the university logo embossed in gold on the outside cover.
