Information Sheet on our Bachelor of Science in Counseling Psychology Degree Program.

Thank you for your interest in our online Bachelor of Science in Counseling Psychology (BS) degree program. Very few (distance program) opportunities exist today for you to acquire your education through online courses. Breyer State University is proud to offer a new "Innovative" online distance education degree program leading to the Bachelor of Science in Counseling Psychology Degree. Our degree program consists of twelve core courses, which are listed below:

2. PSY 146 Social Psychology 6 hrs
3. PSY 176 Abnormal Psychology 6 hrs
4. PSY 214 Introduction to Counseling Psychology 6 hrs
5. PSY 261 Client Interviewing and Assessment 6 hrs
6. PSY 284 Ethical & Case Management in Counseling 6 hrs
7. PSY 312 Counseling Theory & Practice 6 hrs
8. PSY 344 Duel Diagnosis 6 hrs
9. PSY 368 Dealing with Client Resistance 6 hrs
10. PSY 414 Psychology Symposium I - Counseling Theory 20 hrs
11. PSY 451 Psychology Symposium II - Chemical Dependency or Mental Health 20 hrs
12. PSY 477 Psychology Symposium III - Research & Practice 20 hrs

TOTAL HRS = 114 semester hours

Upon successful completion of all twelve courses, you will be conferred the degree "Bachelor of Science in Counseling Psychology” and may use the initials, "BS" after your name.

The BS curriculum consists of courses in psychology. All courses are targeted and precise, clear and easy to follow, yet challenging and exciting at the same time. Each course begins with a syllabus from your instructor, followed by course assignments. You will be given five years to complete the BS program. Apostille Notarization of Degrees

Graduates, who reside outside of the USA, may require their degrees to have an Apostille Certification.  Breyer State University works with an agency in Washington DC that we refer graduates to for application for their Apostille of their degree. View Additional Information

FAQS:

1). There are no residency or travel requirements for this degree program.
2). Courses may be registered for and paid for, all at once or one course at a time.
3). You may take more than one course at one time, except for the Symposium Courses; they must be taken individually in sequence.
4). Breyer State University is accredited by the Association for Innovation in Distance Education. To learn more about our accreditation please view www.breyerstate.com/accreditation.htm
5). Tuition does not include textbooks.
6). To apply for the BS Degree Program, you must complete an online enrollment application. This can be done at www.breyerstate.com/apply.htm
7). There is a one-time $50.00 admissions fee. This can be paid by credit card online at our secure server www.breyerstate.com/pay.htm We also accept personal checks and money orders payable to Breyer State University. These may be mailed to 950 Bannock Street Suite 950, Boise, ID 93702.
8). There are no requirements for admission to this degree program.
9). There are no grants or tuition assistant for this program. However, many employers are paying for or reimbursing tuition for studies at Breyer State University. Please check with your own employer's policy on this.
10). Breyer State University will accept transfer credits of completed courses from other universities.
11). Upon graduation, your diploma and official transcripts will have Bachelor of Science in Counseling Psychology.
12) We will accept transfer credits which may apply toward your degree program. Also, we offer an innovative program where you may apply for consideration of experiential learning/life/work experience credits toward your degree program. 13). This degree program does not meet any type of licensing requirements for a professional counseling license. Many states will allow one to work under the direction of a licensed counselor and/or other mental health licensed professional. If you have any questions or concerns as to whether your state or country allows practice in counseling without an official license, then please be sure to check with your state's licensing agency/board before enrolling into this degree program. Please note that this degree program is not approved by the American Psychological Association (APA). Again, there are agencies/employers that do hire holders of degrees in counseling, where the state laws allow practice under supervision, or do not require licensure. It is important to first check with your own state or country's licensing laws/requirements.
14). Our diplomas are beautifully done by a professional printer. They are a light cream color card stock with blue and black foil ink for lasting quality. The Breyer State University logo is imprinted and our diplomas carry the gold embossed seal of the university. They are contained in a beautiful navy blue leather-like diploma holder with the university logo embossed in gold on the outside cover.
