Thank you for your interest in our Doctor of Nursing Science (DNS)
degree program online. Very few (distance program) opportunities
exist today for graduate prepared nurses to continue their education
at the Doctorate Level.
Breyer State is proud to offer a new “Innovative” online
distance education degree program leading to the Doctor of Nursing
Science Degree. Our degree program consists of 10 (ten) core courses
as below:

Our program is a total of 90 semester hours of credits. Upon successful
completion of all 10 courses, students are conferred the degree
“Doctor of Nursing Science” and may use the initials,
“DNS” after their name.
There are three Clinical Symposium Courses” in the DNS program;
NRS 850, NRS 900, and NRS 950. When a student begins NRS 850 they
are to declare a “major” concentration of study. Concentrations
are available in any clinical discipline, including but not limited
to: medical nursing, surgical nursing, psychiatric nursing, holistic
nursing, oncology nursing, emergency nursing, geriatric nursing,
pediatric nursing, obstetrics nursing, etc.
During the three clinical symposium courses, students will be doing
independent study, independent research, projects, etc based on
their chosen area of clinical specialty.
NRS 950 is a Doctoral Project Course. Students will propose a project
to complete based on their chosen clinical specialty and will produce
a paper detailing their project. The project can be a clinically
related project or a more traditional research type of paper.
Students are given five years to complete the program.
Please Note: The DNS program in NOT accredited by the National
League for Nursing (NLN).

Graduates, who reside outside of the USA, may require their degrees to have an Apostille Certification. Breyer State University works with an agency in Washington DC that we refer graduates to for application for their Apostille of their degree. View Additional Information
1). There are no residency or travel requirements for this degree
program.
2). Courses may be registered for and paid for, all at once or one
course at a time.
3). You may take more than one course at one time, except for the
Symposium Courses; they must be taken individually in sequence.

5). Tuition does not include textbooks.
6). To apply for the DNS Degree Program, you must complete an online
enrollment application. This can be done at www.breyerstate.com/apply.htm
7). There is a one-time $50.00 admissions fee. This can be paid
by credit card online at our secure server www.breyerstate.com/pay.htm
We also accept personal checks and money orders payable to Breyer
State University. These may be mailed to 2100 SouthBridge Parkway, Suite 650, Birmingham, Alabama 35209.
8). There are no requirements for admission to this degree program.
9). There are no grants or tuition assistant for this program. However,
many employers are paying for or reimbursing tuition for studies
at Breyer State University. Please check with your own employer's
policy on this.
10). Breyer State University will accept transfer credits of completed
courses from other universities.
11). Upon graduation, your diploma and official transcripts will
have Doctorate in Nursing, as well as your major area of study printed
on the diploma.
12). Transfer credits may apply to your degree requirements. Also,
we offer an innovative program whereby you may apply for life career/work

13). Our diplomas are beautifully done by a professional printer.
They are a light cream color card stock with blue and black foil
ink for lasting quality. The Breyer State University logo is imprinted
and our diplomas carry the gold embossed seal of the university.
They are contained in a beautiful navy blue leather-like diploma
holder with the university logo embossed in gold on the outside
