This symposium course is the culmination of your studies in the Breyer State University Juris Doctor program. It serves two main purposes with the first being to further your knowledge within a selected segment of the law such as criminal law, alternative dispute resolution, corporations, etc. and focus on a specific issue contained within the broad area of law chosen by you. Secondarily the course will provide you with an opportunity to enhance your learning by thoroughly conducting legal research into your chosen topic and provide real world experience to you and will be directly applicable to your future careers.
It should be noted that this project is solely decided on by you however I will guide them and monitor the entire process until the completion of the course. The final product must follow specific guidelines, which will be provided by me upon registration for the course.
This is a twenty hour course and will be allotted ten (10) weeks to complete with additional time being granted by the professor if needed by you. You and each case will be evaluated on its complexity and if the situation merits additional time will be granted to complete the project.
There is no text required for this class, other than the materials that the law student intends to utilize for completion of the project.
All law classes must be completed prior to enrolling in this course.
The grading scale for the course is as follows:
90-100% - A
80-89% - B
70-79% - C
Below 70% - Fail
Since this is both an independent project as well as one, which needs the guidance from you and me. I will endeavor to be available via email during the duration of the course and will timely answer all questions set forth by you.
