This course in advanced financial management course within the MBA program. The course will cover the scope of Corporate Finance from the foundations of financial statement and cash flow analysis to the essentials of capital budgeting through strategic and operational planning. In the business world it is essential to understand the financial impacts of decision making and how to best plan for the short and long term needs of the corporation. This course will focus on those topics.
This is a five semester hour course. This course is allotted ten weeks of time. You must complete all of the requirements for the course successfully by the end of the ten week period. Please be cognizant of the time frame. It is rare that extensions of time are permitted, unless you have good justification. Upon successful completion of this course, you will be awarded five semester hours of credit.
There is one required textbook for this course.

There will be five (5) True/False or Multiple Choice quizzes and One final exam in this course. You will need your USER ID and PASSWORD to access the exam. The program provides me with the exact times that you accessed the exam. It will also notify me of when you submitted the exam. Shortly after submitting the exam, I will email you with the grade that you earned on each quiz and the exam.
The grading scale for this course is as follows:
90-100% = A
80-89% = B
70-79% = C
Below 70% = Fail
When you start the course you will work hand and hand with the instructor to tailor the course and its assignments to you as the student and your goals in this course. There are certain requirements of all students, but each student will work with the professor to craft the “assignments list” . Thus, please contact the instructor to do this at the beginning of the course!
My name is Michael B. Leamy and I will be your instructor. I have been in the education/training profession for over seven years as an instructor and have been a life long student. I did my undergraduate work at Bentley College where I earned my B.S. in Management cum laude. I then earned my MBA with a concentration in Finance/Accounting at Nichols College. Finally I completed my Doctorate of Education at Breyer State University.
Professionally I began my career as a financial accountant and when I went into management I became a Trainer/Developer. I have work as a consultant/trainer ever since and I really love being in education. In addition I have been an adjunct faculty member at a few local colleges as well as doing some independent consulting work.
On a personal level I am married with one son. I spend most of my time either working or with my family. I understand that family life, work and completing your education is a huge task and I have a great deal of respect for everyone doing so.
