Welcome to MCH 135. This is a bachelor's level course focusing on the basics of self-hypnosis and Clinical Hypnotherapy in the Bachelor of Science curriculum. I am pleased to offer you a course that is the first course in the Bachelor of Science in Metaphysical Clinical Hypnotherapy program. This course has been specially developed to enhance your knowledge in regards to using hypnotic techniques to help you improve your health and well being by using self-hypnosis sometimes called auto-hypnois. This course has been developed to provide you with a basic introduction and working knowledge of many of the issues, which can be overcome through the use of Clinical Hypnotherapy and especially self-hypnosis. This course has been developed to provide you a structured learning environment within the framework of a distance learning program. This is a very valuable course to add to your skills.
It is my belief that a practitioner should be capable of practicing self-hypnosis, be listening to good self-hypnosis audios and CDs, and reading good books on the topic of self-hynosis. You must work on the areas of your life which you feel you need to improve or work on by using self-hypnosis. Using your own testimonials is and will be one of your greatest marketing tools. You'll be able to say, "If I could do it, certainly you can do it also." You can then use your own testimonial to market your practice and to live a great life and feel even better. You will be you own walking website and billboard.
Your course formally starts when you register for the class through Breyer State University Administration, and I offer a bit of leeway as to your course start date. I say your course starts once you register and receive your textbooks. Your course starts the day you receive your textbooks in the mail so it is crucial you email me and let me know you received your books and audios. Please email me the day you receive your text, audio recording, and your study guide from the Breyer State website and your course will formally start upon that date.
This is an eight-semester hour course. This course is allotted ten weeks time frame for completion. You must complete all of the requirements for the course to be successfully by the end of the ten-week period. No exceptions unless accompanied by a Doctors note and your request for an extension. Most students complete the courses well ahead of the ten-week deadline.
You are responsible for books, audios, and supplies and also paying for postage and sending written and any type of other assignments to me. You should pay for first class express ground mail or express airmail when sent from overseas, Canada, or even the USA. Courier is the best way to ensure your package gets safely to the intended reipient, but can be more costly, the choice is yours how you send your assingments. Keep copies of your assignments in case of loss or any confusion, but sent the originals to me. I will pay the return postage when I send you the marked paper and/or course workbook and other materials. You will also be financially responsible for any telephone calls to me; collect calls will not be accepted. However a toll-free student hotline is available from me at 1-888-686-6163. (Available in North America )
There is one required textbook for this course and one audio recording required for course completion.
Book 1: The Complete Idiot's Guide to Hyposis. Alpha Books. First Edition. Roberta Temes, Ph.D. Published 2000 Pearson Education, Inc. http://www.idiotsguides.com Alpha Books, 201 West 103 rd Street, Indianapolis, IN, USA, 46290. Printed in the United States of America. ISBN # 0-02-863660-0.
Now, I know you are no idiot, of course, but the information contained within the book is invaluable in describing how to use self-hypnosis to start learning, and by also describing hypnotherapy in detail and in basic and down to earth language. Plus, Dr. Temes also describes how to find help and offers referrals sources which will be good to have at hand in your own practice. In self-hypnosis, you don't sleep you become hypnotized and offer yourself positive helpful suggestions that will benefit you in your own life. Your greatest testimonal is ourself.
Audio Recording 1: Discovering the Power of Self-Hypnosis. A New Approach for Enabling Change and Promoting Healing. Adapted and read by the Author: Stanley Fisher, Ph.D. Published 1991 by HarperCollins Publishers, Inc. Ordering or Catelog call 1-800-331-3761 or visit http://www.harperaudio.com Made in the USA: ISBN # 1-55994-4242.
The Audio is published by Harper Audio. In his recording he offers a new approach for enabling personal change and promoting healing. By sharing his own story of discovery as well as fascinating stories of some of his 2,000 patients, the Psychologist: Dr. Fisher helps us understand that self-hypnosis is a power we are born with but often we do not knowingly use. Should the student not be able to purchase the audiocassette format With the ISBN # of the Audio Recording you should be able to purchase it online or a local bookstore. Just let them know the ISBN # and they will find it for you.
If you can't purchase the audio recording then I recomment the book upon which the recording is made is available for purchase. Dr. Eastman does strongly recommend the audiocassettee or CD as it offers our brains a new way of learning this crucial information. Purchase information will be listed later on in this course syllabus.
