The Science of Suffering

Bachelors of Science in Metaphysical Clinical Hypnotherapy

MCH 215

Breyer State University

Professor: Dr. Alan R. Eastman, DCH

Syllabus

COURSE OVERVIEW: Welcome to MCH 215. This is an introductory level course in the Bachelor of Science curriculum offered through Breyer State University, Inc. This couse is an essential course in the Bachelor of Science degree progam leading to a B.S. degree in Metaphysical Clinical Hypnotherapy. This course has been developed to provide you with a basic working knowledge of the fundamental terminology, research techniques, and tools that have been used for pain control in the past, present, and future, medical models of pain control, and alternative/complementary healing modalities for relieving pain.

This course is a very up-to-date overview of all the main areas of pain and provides the information in a simple way for you if you do not have extensive psychological or medical training. This text allows the hypnotherapist the opportunity to put together a good informational lecture on pain control techinques including hyonosis. This text also allows the hypnotherapist to develop pre-talks before the hypnosis session begins. While not strictly a hypnosis pain relief book, this book allows the reader to know what causes pain, how it is caused, and how to stop the pain. Hypnosis is one of the best and oldest forms of pain control in the world and is, in my opinion, being severely under utilized; therefore, there are great opportunities for a Hypnotherapist in this field to help many people. This course has been developed to provide you a structured learning environment within the framework of a distance learning program.

All the course work including the course mid-term and final-examination will be found in your detailed course study guide. You can locate your detailed course study guide in the on-line classroom once you are a paid and registered student.

At the beginning of the course it is advisable for you to begin reading the textbook and studying its concepts, as this will give you a good foundation for your work with your client base. Your mid-term be a paper on a topic from the text. The final exam will be a formal paper based on a subject of your choice in how to integrate the couseling process with a hypnotherapy practice.

In the Metaphysical Clinical Hypnotherapy Bachelor's degree you will find this a very valuable course in terms of giving you a sound foundation unto which base your future work and theories in hypnotherapy.
