Welcome to Natural Health Care Protocols II NHC-650, a 5 semester-hour course. The human body consists of 10 body systems. This course will address the following systems: Genito-Urinary System; Reproductive System; Male And Female Disorders; Sexually-Transmitted Diseases; Brain And Nervous System; Mental And Emotional Disorders.
The Genito-Urinary System and Reproductive System involve the male and female organs of the genitalia, urinary tract and reproductive system. Male organs include the penis, testicles, scrotum and prostate. Female organs include the vagina, labia, clitoris, ovaries, cervix, uterus and fallopian tubes. Organs of both genders include the urinary bladder, ureters, urethra and kidneys. Common disorders of the Genito-Urinary and Reproductive System include bladder incontinence, kidney stones, endometriosis and uterine fibroid tumors. Common Sexually-Transmitted Diseases include gonorrhea, syphilis, trichomonas, chlamydia, AIDS, genital herpes, genital warts, genital candida, pelvic inflammatory disease and pubic lice.
The Brain and Nervous System involves physical, mental and emotional disorders. The brain is a large soft mass of nerve tissue and nerve cells contained within the cranium. The nervous system is made up of the brain, cranial nerves and spinal cord. It involves extremely delicate nerve cells, elaborately interlaced with each other. The brain and nervous system are the primary centers for regulating and coordinating all body activities. They are the seat of consciousness, thought, memory, reason, judgment and emotion. They receives sensory impulses [eyesight, hearing, tasting, feeling, smelling], which are the basis for perception; and motor impulses, which are the basis for movement and reflexes [breathing and heartbeat]. When the brain and nervous systems are affected, all manner of feeling, thinking, talking, sensation and movement are affected. Common disorders of the Brain and Nervous System include Alzheimer's Disease, Parkinson's Disease, attention deficit, and obsessive-compulsive disorder.
This is a 5 semester-hour course. Upon completion you will be awarded five semester hours worth of credit. You have ten weeks to complete this course.
The following is the required textbook for this certificate course.
Book 1: Prescription For Nutritional Healing. Phyllis Balch, CNC And James Balch. MD third edition, ISBN # 1583332368.
You will learn the naturopathic protocol for disorders involving the following systems: Genito-Urinary System; Reproductive System, including Male and Female Disorders; Sexually-Transmitted Diseases; Brain And Nervous System, including Mental And Emotional Disorders. Students will have required reading assignments. The project assignment for each course will require each student to construct a naturopathic protocol for various hypothetical disorders.
Passing an open-book proficiency mid-term examination is required. The minimum passing score is 70%. It is due within 6 weeks after enrolment in the course. Each student will have up to 12 weeks to complete the course.
The grading scale for this course is as follows:
91-100% = A
81-90% = B
71-80% = C
Below 70% = Failed

The naturopathic protocol involves using Whole foods, Vitamins, antioxidants, Minerals, Enzymes, Amino acids, Phytochemicals, Medicinal herbs and other nutrients.
You will learn the naturopathic protocol for disorders of the following systems: Immune System; Infections; Glandular System; Anti-Aging; Integumentary System [Skin, Hair, Teeth, Nails, Eyes, Ears]. The naturopathic protocol includes:

2). Vitamins.
3). Antioxidants.
4). Minerals.
5). Enzymes.
6). Amino acids.
7). Phytochemicals.
8). Medicinal herbs.
