SYLLABUS

EXAM OVERVIEW: The content of this course focuses on an introduction to community health nursing practice. Upon successful completion of this module, you will be able to articulate the basic knowledge relative to community health nursing theory with direct application to various roles within community health nursing. You will be able to articulate the planning, implementation and evaluation of various applications of community health nursing relative to various community health settings and populations.

EVALUATION OF KNOWLEDGE:
The evaluation of your knowledge relative to this subject matter will be evaluated through the completion of an examination. The examination will be an essay format. You will select and then answer seven of fourteen essay questions from questions listed in the classroom for this course. You will have a total of four hours to complete this examination.

GRADES: Successful completion of the course will be evidenced by a score of 70% on the examination. If you do not achieve a score of 70% will be able to re-take the examination. The second examination will include a second essay exam. You will be expected to answer a new set essay questions which will be administered individually by me.

CREDIT HOURS: This course is worth 5 semester hours of college credits for the Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree program.

PASS SCORE:
You must achieve at least a 70% score to pass this module.

GRADING SCALE: The grading scale for this course/exam is:

90%-100%    = A
80%-89%      = B
70%-79%      = “PASS”
Below-70%    = Fail

7). Evaluate care within various communities and within various populations.
8). Explore the impact of community health problems such as AIDS, violence & communicable 9). diseases.
10). Understand the impact of caring for diverse families systems within the community.
11). Develop an appreciation for various community health nursing roles.
