environments where leadership occurs, and decisions and actions
for effective change. You are tested on major concepts and theory
related to health care systems, organizational theory and dynamics,
leadership and management, and the applications of leadership principles
that nurse leaders are likely to apply in organizational environments
in leading and managing for effective change.
This examination also covers information related to leadership
for quality initiatives, program and project management, teams and
empowerment, overcoming resistance to change, and the integration
of change agency into nursing roles.
This examination
contains objective type questions, including multiple choice and
true/false.
This examination
contains 150 questions.

This competency
examination is worth 5 semester hours of college credits for the
Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree program.
You must achieve
at least a 70% score to pass this examination.
The grading scale
for this competency examination is:
90%-100% = A
89%-80% = B
79%-70% = “PASS”
Below-70% = Fail
You will have four hours to complete this examination.
The examination is taken online at the university website.
If a score of
70% is not achieved on the examination, you will have an opportunity
to complete independent study course work to receive credits.
