SYLLABUS

COURSE OVERVIEW: Welcome to Project Quality Management, a Master Level course in the curriculum for the Degree, Master of Project Management. I am pleased to instruct you in this course.

This course focuses on the relationship between total quality management and management theories. Through case studies and real-life examples, you will discover how businesses have used total quality management principles and concepts.

TIME FRAME: This is a five-semester hour course. This course is allotted 10 weeks of time. You must complete all of the requirements for the course successfully by the end of the 10-week period. The first day of week one will begin the day that you register for the course, or the day which you notify me that your textbooks have arrived and you are ready to begin your studies. Please be cognizant of the time frame. It is rare that extensions of time are permitted, unless you have good justification. Upon successful completion of this course, you will be awarded five semester hours of credit.

TEXTBOOKS: There is one (1) required textbook for this course.

WRITTEN ASSIGNMENTS: There are two written assignment submissions for this course, one after week 5 and the second after week 10. The first written assignment covers the first six chapters of the textbook, and you will be required to provide short answers to a series of open ended questions and review a real life quality management case. The final submission covers the last five chapters of the textbook, and you will be required to provide short answers to a series of open ended questions and review a real life quality management case. The details for these assignments are listed in the Assignments section of the classroom.

GRADING: The grading scale for this course is as follows:

90-100% = A
80-89% = B
70-79% = C
Below 70% = Fail

COMMUNICATION: You are encouraged to communicate with me. I am available as a teacher, coach, and mentor to assist you in meeting your goals for this course. Primarily, communication is through email. However, I am also available for conversation by telephone if you would like. Our classroom for this course has a "chat" room. I am also very willing to meet with you one-on-one in the chat room at your request. From time to time, depending on how many students are enrolled in this course at a particular time, we will have some scheduled group chats. You will receive more detailed information at the time such chat sessions are scheduled. Please keep my email address handy so that you can contact me whenever necessary. If at any time during this course you change your email address, please be sure to notify me right away.
ABOUT YOUR INSTRUCTOR: I, Grace Onodipe, PhD, MA, BSc., currently teach graduate courses at Breyer State University. I hold a degree in Ph.D. in AED Economics and a Masters and Bachelors in Economics. I have been teaching for the past seven years at the undergraduate and graduate levels. I am originally from Nigeria and have lived in the United States for almost 10 years.

COURSE OBJECTIVES: Upon completion of this course, you will be able to:

1). Examine principles and methods associated with total quality management (TQM).
2). Relate these principles to management concepts.
3). Determine how TQM relates to organizational design and process improvement.
4). Develop methods to encourage teamwork and empowerment.
5). Develop ways to make TQM part of an organization.
