Welcome to PSY 825, Career Development and Counseling. This course is part of the PhD in Counseling program at Breyer State University.
It is a 6 hour semester course which must be completed within 10 weeks.
The textbook for this course is:
Book 1: Learning, Practicing, and Living the New Careering . Anna Miller-Tiedeman, published by Taylor & Francis, Inc. 1999: ISBN: 1-56032-740-5.
The assignments can be found in the assignment section of the classroom. Your grade will be based upon two written assignments- the first covering chapters 1-7 of the textbook and the second one covering the remainder of the book. Each assignment will require you to understand the course material and apply it to clinically relevant situations. Once you have completed reading the first half of the book, you will receive further instructions. Please do not hesitate to contact me with questions or discussion points at any point in the process."
The course grade will be based on your papers.
90-100% = A
80-89% = B
70-79% = C
Below 70% = Fail
Having said all that, hello! My name is A. Genziana Lay. I have a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Argosy University in Chicago. I also hold an MA in Counseling and a BS in Psychology from St. Lawrence University. I am currently living in Italy, which is where I am from.

This course will cover topics in career counseling from different angles. It will utilize concepts from a broad range of theories. PSY 825 should help you gain a good sense of how to creatively integrate career counseling into your work with clients as appropriate.
