Maureen holds a Master's of Science in Computer Science Education from Nova University, Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.
Maureen comes to us with approximately 15 years teaching experiences both in the traditional and online classroom. She is currently a full-time faculty at American Intercontinental University -Weston Campus, Florida . Maureen teaches in the School of Information Technology and E-business.
In addition to her full-time duties, she served as the Distance Learning Coordinator and teaches online with the same University. Prior to teaching IT courses, Maureen taught Allied Health Care courses-Medical Terminology, Computerized Medical Billing, and Coding, Medical Transcription, etc.
Maureen also brings with her approximately 20+ years industry experience working in a variety of settings in New York City -Health care, Juvenile corrections, Adult Services (Homeless Services) and Academia. Most of her work experience has been in the health care industry.
In these settings she served in many capacities,--Director of City-wide HIV Program Services, Emergency Room Administrator, Director of Community-based Health Care facility, Assistant Director of Institutional Services for Homeless Adults. When Maureen re-located to Florida , she worked as Assistant Director of Education and Director of the Computer Resource and Learning Center at one of the Allied Health Care schools.
In addition to her vast experiences, Maureen also maintained her own business for approximately 10 years-a management and education consulting firm. As an entrepreneur she trained individuals to become small business owners; wrote grants, set up conferences, etc.
