CAREER EXPERIENCE

  • Dr. Ryan currently teaches in the Graduate School of Breyer State University. His primary academic interest deals with corporate governance research and management systems applications. He continues to develop and maintain websites for religious and charitable institutions as well as his own website for students and corporate consulting work. 1996 – Present.
  • Twenty-seven years experience in the electric utility industry at Northeast Utilities Service Company, Berlin, CT. Assignments included generation and transmission planning, research and system design, corporate budget and financial system analysis, and management consulting at the Millstone Nuclear Power Plant in Waterford, CT. Accumulated countless hours in seminars, conferences and workshops on management development and various mainframe computer systems. Completed a course in analog systems analysis of electric utility power systems at Syracuse University, Syracuse, NY; and a course on digital modeling and analysis of electrical power systems at the University of Texas, Arlington, TX. Presented numerous seminars on electric utility battery-energy-storage systems, computer optimization of electric utility generation planning, and dispersed electrical-generation systems for electric utilities. Authored and co-authored many technical research papers on advanced generation power-systems. 1969 - 1996

  • Eight years management experience in manufacturing, quality assurance, and electrical, optical, and mechanical instrumentation test processes at Kollmorgen Corporation, Northampton, MA.  Completed an optical engineering course at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, MA. Selected by Kollmorgen to develop the complete contractor acceptance testing process for the U.S. Navy's Type 11-B submarine periscope program. 1962 – 1969.

  • Graduate of United Aircraft Corporation's apprenticeship program in manufacturing processes, East Hartford, CT.  After completing this program, worked in experimental manufacturing processes at Pratt & Whitney Aircraft followed by a year of tool and model making. 1958 – 1962.

  • Completed steam and diesel engineering courses at Wentworth Institute of Technology, Boston, MA. 1957 – 1958.
