Once your textbook arrives, please begin reading the text. Your assignment for this course is to read, study and review this textbook. You may proceed as rapidly or as paced as you desire. Your FINAL examination will cover all of the material in this textbook.
As you read the texts, you may certainly want to underline or highlight important concepts, theories, modalities, etc. You may take your own notes, although note taking is not a requirement for this course. There is one written exam (objective type, Open Book), which is to be taken after you have completed all of the readings and the written assignments for Course, I, II, and III in the certificate program.
You are to create a Learning Portfolio as you proceed and progress in this course. A Learning Portfolio is a comprehensive composite of responses to study questions that you will answer using your textbook.
For each chapter in the textbook, you are presented study questions to answer. All answers must be in writing (typed). Specific information for formatting, as well as the study questions are provided below.
Your work with the study questions will help insure continued learning and application of the materials as you progress through this course. Review carefully, the instructions for formatting and completing your study questions, as provided below.
This comprehensive assignment will be graded on a PASS/FAIL basis. In order to receive a Pass score, you must have completed the responses to the questions at 80% correct completion.
Please provide a cover sheet for your learning portfolio. The Learning Portfolio is a composite of all of your answers to all of the questions provided below. On the cover sheet please provide:
A title, i.e. Learning Portfolio
Course Title
Your full name
Your email address
Your phone number
The date of submission
When answering the study questions, be sure to write the question first, proceeded by your answer.
Answer the questions to represent a through response. In some cases your answers will be very brief. In other cases, your answers may be of greater length. In no instant should an answer ever be over two pages of written text.
Before turning in the Learning Portfolio, it is highly recommended that you insure that you have a copy of it for yourself.
You may submit the completed learning portfolio to me in the following way:
You may email it to me as a file
You may fax the completed Portfolio to 330-652-7575.
You may send me the completed learning portfolio via regular postal mail. If you chose this route of submission, please email me for a mailing address to send to.
I prefer the third way, i.e., mail.
The Learning Portfolio is graded on a PASS/FAIL basis. To receive a passing mark you must have answered at least 80% of the study questions with accuracy. If you do not pass the Learning Portfolio will be required to repeat the course.
The Learning Portfolios are due to me before you can progress to the next course in the certificate program. Once your Learning Portfolio is submitted, you will receive notice of whether you have meet the assignment objectives or not, within 7-10 days of submission.
