Breyer State University uses
the APA (American Psychological Association) style for writing.
APA style is the standard used for writing in the social sciences,
psychology, sociology, criminology, health sciences, businesses,
economics, and education.
The MLA (Modern Language Association)
style is the standard used for writing in the humanities, literature,
history,philosophy, art, etc.
For students writing papers,
thesis or dissertations in the humanities, literature, history,
philosophy or art, MLA style should be used.
The APA style and the MLA style
have many similarities, but there are some differences that reflect
the need for scientific research vs. research in the humanities.
